THE Guru, Hunter Wilson, was born and raised on Lake Wylie. After graduating from UNC-Charlotte, he built and sold his first startup company in Charlotte. Afterwards, Hunter quickly moved back to Lake Wylie and started his luxury pontoon rental business in 2013. Within just a few years his rental business become the largest fleet available for rental on Lake Wylie. In 2017 Hunter was appointed as the Lake Wylie Marine Commissioner for Mecklenburg County. His love and understanding of Lake Wylie lead to his appointment as a Commissioner for the lake.

    Lake Wylie is a 12,455 acre man-made lake on the South Carolina/North Carolina border. It is operated by Duke Energy and is known for summer water sports. The oldest lake on the Catawba, it was first created by a dam near the town of Fort Mill in 1904, which was rebuilt in 1924. The lake has 325 miles of shoreline, and since portions of this lake lie in both North and South Carolina, fishermen are advised to obtain the proper licenses.
